About the event
2024 is the year that marks the centenary of the birth of Gabriel Fauré, one of the most important French composers in the history of music. We honor him with one of his masterpieces: the Requiem.
This will be performed by our professional ensemble of soloists with Guillem Aubry from the Paris Opera on the piano. The Requiem is a funeral mass and, like the Passions, contains a strong narrative message. The main character is the soul and its passage into the afterlife. Liberation, "redemption" (Libera me Domine de morte aeternam) and thus eternal peace of mind is the ultimate goal. This is why Bartabas' production of Mozart's Requiem in Salzburg was such a success.
The creation of Saint-Guillaume will cast Vincent GROBELNY in the role of the soul. He is the 2023 pole dancing world champion and will move in airy fabrics between heaven and earth in a production by Guillem Aubry and the lights of Daniel Knipper.
